My previous training in medicine facilitation didn’t include an honest examination of power, privilege, race, sexual and gender identity, or erotic energy—areas I’ve come to see as essential, and where harm can easily be repeated if they go unexamined.
It takes a real sense of safety to engage these topics at a level where something can actually shift, and the container Syre created for Sovereign Medicine felt intentionally designed for that from the beginning. That sense of safety deepened over time as he made facilitation choices that responded to what was happening in the room and invited genuine co-creation.
I now feel able to bring not only complex questions about medicine practice, but also the more personal and vulnerable material that this work surfaces. Each time I shared something true and had it met with care, I could feel a part of myself come back into relationship—and with it, a greater capacity to hold others.
I would especially recommend this mentorship to queer and gender expansive facilitators who want a space to engage both their practice and their lived experience with depth and integrity.
